SHIRLEY DIANE HUTCHINSON DERRICK
Sept. 22, 1955-Dec. 12, 2023
Funeral services for Shirley Diane Hutchinson Derrick, 68, originally
from Arm, Miss., and a resident of Meadville, were conducted on Monday,
Dec. 18, 2023 from First Baptist Church of Bude, with Brother Webb
Armstrong and Brother Tyson Windom officiating.
Interment followed at Arm Baptist Church Cemetery in Silver Creek.
Born on Sept. 22, 1955, in Brookhaven to Kermis Lavon Hutchinson and
Mary Elizabeth Grimes Hutchinson, she loved her family dearly and her
grandchildren and their spouses with an even greater love. She cherished
spending time with her beloved husband, David, and their little dog,
Trixie. She so enjoyed her time spent with her Sunday School ladies and
valued their friendship with all of her heart.
She loved all things that sparkled and shined. She truly appreciated all
of the beautiful things life had to offer, big and small. She loved
planting flowers and working in her yard.
Holidays were always a special time for her, but her absolute most
favorite time of the year was Christmas. She loved making Christmas
candies and sweets and spent much time thinking of the perfect gifts for
those she loved. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend
and she will be missed greatly.
She died on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023 while on vacation to one of her most
favorite places to visit, Biltmore Estates, with her husband, David
Derrick, by her side.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years, David P. Derrick of Bude;
her daughter, Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Larkin and husband, Pat Larkin of
McCall Creek; her granddaughter, Jordyn Baleigh Gooch and husband, Clint
Gooch of McCall Creek; her grandson, Thomas Patrick Larkin and wife,
Taylor Pickett Larkin of McCall Creek; her stepson, Kristopher "Kris"
David Derrick of Seminary; her mother, Mary Elizabeth Smith of
Brookhaven; her brother, Eddie Hutchinson and wife, Donna Hutchinson of
Brookhaven; her sisters, Linda Hutchinson Magee and husband, Randy
Magee, of Brookhaven, and Francis Lambert of Arm; a versy special friend
in Deborah Colbert and her granddaughters by heart, Emily Dillon and
Taylor Marrero.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jason Bradley Gallagher; and her
father, Kermis Lavon Hutchinson.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Thomas and Clint Gooch; her nephews,
Todd Smith, Scott Smith and Keith Hutchinson; and her great-nephews,
Landon Trott.

Funeral services for Patsy L. Davis, 80, of Meadville, were conducted on
Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023 from the Chapel of Franklin Funeral Home in
Meadville, with Rev. Toby Jones and Rev. Keith Smith officiating.
Interment followed at New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in McCall Creek.
Born on Dec. 11, 1943 in Natchez to William Louis Leonard and Aleain
Norris Leonard, she was a Hairdresser and Barber for nearly 60 years,
and she served as President of the Mississippi Hair Dressers Association
at one time.
She enjoyed painting, drawing, artistry and crafting. She was a great
seamstress. She enjoyed spending time outside with her flower garden and
plants. She loved being with and taking care of her family.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend
to everyone she met.
She died on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023 at Franklin County Memorial
Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark Louis and Jill
Davis of Meadville; her daughter and son-in-law, Vicky Davis and Jack
Jordan of Smithdale; her sister, Itasca Smith of Ennis, Texas; her
grandchildren and their respective spouses, Colton Davis, Zane and
Caylee Grace Davis, Jacob and Ally Jordan and Aliza Jordan; her
great-granddaughter, Avah Mae; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Buford Davis.
Pallbearers were Jacob Jordan, Zane Davis, Jamie Newman, James Newman,
Jack Jordan and Mark Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Colton Davis,
Ricky Johnson, Michael Davis and Paul Malone.
