Funeral services for Josie Williams Oaties, 80, of Smithdale, were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Smithdale with Pastor Oliver W. Smith officiating.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held from noon until the time of service on Saturday at the church.

She was born to Amanda Cain Williams and Leon Williams Sr., on July 14, 1942, in Franklin County, and passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023, in Jackson.
