Advocate sets Feb. 3 candidate session

by Staff Report

The Franklin Advocate will host a special gathering for those running for elected offices in August and November.

Candidates who have qualified or will qualify by Wednesday, Feb. 1 are invited and encouraged to attend an informal get-together starting at 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 3 at the newspaper offices located at 100 Main Street East in Meadville.

A number of topics regarding marketing, advertising and political announcements will be covered during the session.

Snacks will be provided and door prizes of free advertising will be available as well.

“We are looking forward to meeting with all of the politicians in Franklin County and showing them ways to market and advertise their respective campaigns,” Publisher Paul Keane said.

“There is no cost to attend the meeting and there is no obligation to purchase anything. This will be an informational meeting that will provide those candidates in attendance with a good overall look at ways to market themselves during the campaign.

“We offer our traditional print advertising in the weekly newspaper, and a wide array of digital advertising packages through our website and social media platforms that can be effective while also fitting a candidate’s budget.”

Keane said the way to submit political announcements — along with guidelines and procedures — will be discussed.

The meeting is expected to last roughly 30 minutes.

“We welcome all candidates and their spouses to this very important meeting,” Keane said. “We hope that everyone will be able to attend so that everyone receives all of the information at the same time.”
