Funeral services for Acie Joseph “A.J.” Spring, 76, of Smithdale, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at Johnson Grove Church of Christ in Bogue Chitto.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, at the church.

He was born to George Washington Spring and Gertrude Nunnery Spring on Oct. 1, 1946, in Franklin County, and passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023, in Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Wayne Spring, Ralph Spring and Warren Spring.

Survivors include his wife of 55 ½ years, Janie Spring; his children, Randy Spring and his wife, Amy, and Julie Spring Piper and her husband, Shawn; his brother, Eddie Spring and his wife, Pat; his sister, Frances Spring Berch; his three grandchildren, Brett Spring and his wife, Katie, Brady Spring and Taylor Belle Piper; and a host of friends, family and countless cousins.
