Funeral services for the Rev. Norwood Thomas “Tebo” Wicker, 79, of Smithdale, were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church in Smithdale with the Rev. Eric Moak, the Rev. Bruce Crosby and Brother Kenneth Golman officiating.

Interment was in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2, 2022 and from 10 a.m., until the time of service on Saturday, Dec. 3 at the church.

Mr. Wicker, a retired local minister for numerous churches over the past 60 years, was born to Basil Wicker Sr., and Mary Alice Bellue Wicker on April 9, 1943, in Liberty, and passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and his and sister-in-law, Linda Wicker.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ruby Alexander Wicker of Smithdale; his sons, Mark Wicker (Lisa) of Tylertown, Eric Wicker (Leanne) of Jayess and Wade Wicker (Christy) of Smithdale; his daughter, Joy Leake (Philip) of McCall Creek; his grandchildren, Nathan Wicker (Natalie), Seth Wicker, Emilee Fortenberry (Alex), Faith McMinn (Chanse), Kristen Leeper (Eric), Greg Johns (Becki), Emilee Leake, Alex Leake, Ava Leake, Clayton Wicker, Ana Wicker, Lexie Wicker and Emma Grace Wicker; his great-grandchildren Scott Wicker, Renlee Fortenberry, Cam McMinn, Greyson McMinn, Bennett McMinn, Jack Leeper, Jude Leeper, Waylon Leeper, Kaige McNear and Kasyn Johns; his brothers, the Rev. Basil Wicker Jr., Carroll Wicker (Betty) and Malcolm Wicker (Maureen); his sisters Joyce Cothren (Roger) and Margaret Gee (Kenny); and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
