Halloween events planned this weekend locally

by Nicole Stokes

A number of Halloween-related events, gatherings and fund-raisers are scheduled for this weekend across Franklin County.

Scheduled activities will include:

• The Franklin County High School’s Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps’ two-night “Haunted Armory” fund-raiser on Thursday, Oct. 27 and Friday, Oct. 28.

Held at the historic former National Guard Armory on Main Street in downtown Meadville, the gathering promises guests will be entertained — and frightened.

The event will feature two distinct versions — with Thursday’s gathering a little milder for those who are more timid and Friday night at the armory will be the “full-scare” program.

The cost to enter Thursday’s show will be $7 while Friday’s admission fee will be $10.

In addition, snacks and drinks will be sold by the JROTC both nights with soft drinks and water offered for $1; chips and candies for $1.50; and other items at various prices.

• Area businesses and organizations in Meadville and Bude will be distributing candy, goodies and treats between 3 and 6 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 28.
