Funeral services for Walter Edward “Pete” Whittington, 76, of Ferriday, La., were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022 at Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church with Brothers Ronald Hall and Matthew Hutto officiating.

Interment followed in Midway Cemetery in Franklin County.

Visitation was held from 9 a.m., until the time of service on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the church.

He was born to Walter and Marie Byrnes Whittington on Saturday, May 11, 1946, in Wisner, La., and passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, in Nacogdoches, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Lynette Whittington Baker.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Hilda Ezell Whittington of Ferriday, La.; his daughter, Kim Cowan and her husband, Stephen, of Hemphill, Texas; his sons, Bo Whittington and his wife, Connie, of Deville, La., Jim Whittington and his wife, Virginia, of Orange, Texas and Daryle Whittington and his wife, Traci, of Vicksburg; his brothers, Ronald Whittington and his wife, Sherry, of Ferriday, La., and Donald Whittington of Ferriday, La.; his sister, Jeanette Krodel and her husband, Mike, of Tampa, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
