Halloween events slated in Meadville on Oct. 28
Local businesses and groups will have the opportunity to pass out candy and treats to children for Halloween from 3 to 5 p.m., Friday, Oct. 28 in downtown Meadville.
“Individuals, businesses and civic groups that would like to participate are encouraged to do so,” organizer Morgan Halford Poore said. “We had hundreds of children (taking part) last year and we’re really excited to do this again.”
The family-friendly event seeks to promote a safe environment for children and adults are encouraged to accompany young people to each stop through the town’s business district.
A list of participants planning to distribute treats is currently being compiled and will be publicly announced prior to the event.
In addition, a fall festival-carnival gathering — hosted by Meadville United Methodist Church — will again be held on the lawn at Halford Law Firm on West Main Street from 5 to 8 p.m., featuring games, activities and a hay ride.
