Funeral services for Elaine Freeman Reeves, 89, of Smithdale, were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at Brown Funeral Home in Gloster with Brother Bruce Crosby officiating.

Interment was in the Mount Pleasant Memorial Cemetery in Gloster.

Visitation was held from 11 a.m., until the time of service on Tuesday, Aug. 16 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Reeves was born to Matt Freeman and Carnette Jackson Freeman on Jan. 22, 1933, and passed away on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, at Courtyard Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in McComb.

At age 45, she went to college and graduated as a registered nurse.

She enjoyed a full life, especially caring for others in her role as a nurse.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Smithdale.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lanyeous “L.P.” Reeves; and three brothers, Howard Freeman, Roddis Freeman and Hilton Freeman.

Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Hunter and her husband, Eddie; her son, Greg Reeves; her two grandchildren; Jessica Brigmond and Perrin Hunter; and her three great-grandchildren, Dustin Mason, Jared Brigmond and Dominic Hunter.

Pallbearers were Eddie Hunter, Perrin Hunter, Dustin Mason, Micheal Brigmond, Ken Freeman and Neil Breeland.

Honorary pallbearers were Delano Reeves, Jared Brigmond, and Dominic Hunter.
