Funeral services for Claude Rudolph “Rudy” Ezell, 83, of Bude were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at New Hope Baptist Church in Meadville with the Rev. Calvin Wactor officiating.

Interment followed in the Eddiceton Community Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, and from 10 a.m., until the time of services on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at New Hope Baptist Church.

Mr. Ezell was born to the Rev. Archie Ezell and Myrtle Watson Ezell on July 14, 1938, in Mississippi, and passed from this life on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital in Meadville.

He enjoyed tending to his garden, going to church and being around people.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and wonderful friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Randy Ezell; his sisters, Evelyn Mitchell and Barbara Sue Lewis; and his brothers, Grady Ezell and Kenny Ezell.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Frances Delaughter Ezell; his daughters, Rena Weaver of Hammond, La., and Mesha Puderer and husband, Bruce, of Hammond, La.; his son, Timothy Ezell of Hammond, La.; his sisters, Hilda Whittington and husband, Pete, of Ferriday, La., and Mary Ann Dukes of Maryville, Tenn.; and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews along with a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers were Clutch Aldridge, Billy Terrell, Bo McMillan, Colby McMillan, David Pilgrim and Warren Walker.

The family request memorials be made in Mr. Ezell’s name to Eddiceton Community Cemetery.
