Ole Brook Rodeo set June 17-18

BROOKHAVEN — One of the greatest shows on dirt returns to the Lincoln Civic Center Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18 as the annual Ole Brook Rodeo will be staged.

Among the slate of competitive events drawing participants from across the Southeastern United States will be barrel racing, breakaway roping, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling and team roping.

Featured at this year’s rodeo will be professional barrelman and entertainer Brandon Dunn, who hails from Petrolia, Texas.

Dunn, a veteran of the rodeo circuit, travels the country with his in-ring exploits that include entertaining crowds and protecting cowboys.

In addition, mutton bustin’ events are planned starting at 6 p.m., both nights, and children’s bicycles will be given away on Friday and Saturday.
Tickets purchased at the gate will be $15 each for teens and adults and $12 for children ages 10 and younger.

Advance tickets, which are on sale now, can be purchased at Co-Lin Feed and Seed at 1232 U.S. Highway 51 in Brookhaven and Wands Seed Store at 403 U.S. Highway 51 in Brookhaven.

Tickets purchased before the event are $12 and $10 each for adults and children, respectively.

Children, ages 5 and under, will be admitted to the rodeo at no cost with an adult ticket holder.

The Lincoln Civic Center is located at 1096 Belt Line Drive in Brookhaven.

The rodeo is presented by Toyota of Brookhaven and the Bank of Brookhaven, and is sponsored by Paul Barnett Nissan, BankPlus, the Brookhaven Tourism Council and Tom Smith Land and Realty.
