MISSISSIPPI FORESTRY COMMISSION
INVITATION FOR BIDS
STUMPAGE FOR SALE ON
16-5N-5E, Franklin County, Mississippi
Sealed bids will be received by the Franklin County Board of Education 
at P.O. Box 605 Meadville, MS 39653 up to and not later than 10:00 a.m. 
on March 17, 2026 for the purchase on lump sum basis of all timber, 
standing or down, designated for cutting on Section 16, Township 5 
North, Range 5 East, Franklin County, Mississippi. The sale consists of 
±74 acre final harvest. Timber volumes are estimated to contain the 
following more or less: 5,222 tons pine sawtimber, 363 tons pine 
chip-n-saw, 506 tons pine pulpwood, 243 tons hardwood sawtimer, 221 tons 
hardwood pallet wood, 620 tons hardwood pulpwood more or less. The above 
figures are not to be construed to be the exact volume. Each bidder is 
expected to make his own cruise and to bid accordingly. The timber may 
be inspected at any time.
Before bids are submitted, full information concerning the material for 
sale, conditions of sale and submission of bids should be obtained from 
the Area Office, Mississippi Forestry Commission, P.O. Box 242, Liberty, 
MS 39645, telephone (601-832-7278 or the Regional Office at (228) 
234-1536. The Franklin County Board of Education reserved the right to 
reject any and all bids.

North, Range 4 East, Franklin County, Mississippi. The sale consists of 
±67 acres final harvest. Timber volumes are estimated to contain the 
following more or less: 2,375 tons pine sawtimber, 123 tons pine 
chip-n-saw, 204 tons pine pulpwood, 548 tons hardwood sawtimber, 58 tons 
hardwood pallet wood, 301 tons hardwood pulpwood more or less. The above 
figures are not to be construed to be the exact volume. Each bidder is 
expected to make his own cruise and to bid accordingly. The timber may 
be inspected at any time.

Letters of Administration having been granted on the 13th day of 
February, 2026 by the Chancery Court of Franklin County, Mississippi, to 
the undersigned, upon the Estate of Nora Jean Hughes, Deceased, notice 
is hereby given to all persons having claims against said Estate to 
present the same to the Clerk of said Court for probate and registration 
according to law within ninety (90) days from this day, or they will be 
forever barred.
