Funeral services for Calvin E. Holland, 79, of Meadville, will be at 11
a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025 from Bude Church of God. Visitation will
be from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025 and again from 9-11 a.m. on
Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025, all from the church.

Born in Meadville on July 15, 1946 to Joe and Helen Holland, he served
in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, where he received a Purple Heart and Bronze
Star.

After returning home to Franklin County, he went to work at Armstrong
Tire in Natchez, where he was known as "Happy." After become a grandpa
for the first time, he became "Pappy" to many.

He loved Southern Gospel music and could often be found gathered around
a piano with family and friends or in the church choir. Much of his time
was spent outside on the tractor of bulldozer "piddling" around. Hew as

He died on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025 at the G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery VA
Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Felicia Holland of
Meadville and Mechelle Holland and Clay Duncan of Summit; his
grandchildren and their respective spouses, Brady and Ashton Duncan of
Jonesboro, Ark., and Kaley Duncan and Blake Rowell of Jayess; his
great-grandchildren, Emily Kate Rowell, Henry Duncan and was to welcome
a third, Callie Rowel, in May; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenny
and Rhonda Holland and Marcus and Angie Holland; his sister-in-law,
Frances Allred McPhail; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and
friends.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy May, Jimmy Dale Edwards, Kent Holland, Reggie
Duncan, Blake Rowell and Jonathan Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be

cousins, Farrell and Bobby Holland, and his friend and neighbor, Darius
Foster.
