Funeral services for Deidra LaTrishe Watson Torrez, 40, of Meadville, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Praise Cathedral Church of God in Meadville.

Interment was at Byrd’s Chapel Cemetery in the Berrytown community.

Visitation was held from 12:30 p.m., until the time of service on Sunday, April 10 at Praise Cathedral.

Mrs. Torrez was born to Dale and Annette Watson on April 18, 1981, in Baton Rouge, La., and passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.

She was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister, and was known for having a kind heart and showing enormous generosity. 

Most will remember her for her dedication to her children and family, and will recall her being their loving “Aunt DeeDee.”

She graduated from Franklin County High School in Meadville in 1998, and from Copiah-Lincoln Junior College in 2000. 

She was a member of Praise Cathedral Church of God, was also well known and adored in the pageant world and for being an advocate for autism.

Mrs. Torrez was preceded in death by her father, Dale Watson; her grandparents, Leon and Irene Watson, and Joseph and Francis Vincent; and her aunts, Josephine Haney, Ruby Shelton and Mae Scott.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 20 years, Branden; her twin daughters, Kellie and Katie; her son, Hayden; her mother and step-father, Annette and Floyd Watson of Meadville; her two sisters, Kim (Jeffrey) Rollins of Baton Rouge, La., and Sheree’ (Christopher) Schexnaydre of Montz, La. 

Also, she was the devoted aunt to Brandon Rollins, Ryan Dupont, Megan Rollins and Nathan Schexnaydre. She also adored Ryan’s wife, LeAnn, and their new baby, Rylea.  

Pallbearers were Christopher Schexnaydre, Jeffrey Rollins, Johnnie Dupont, Ryan Dupont, Nathan Schexnaydre, Wayne Berryhill, Adam Smith and Jerry Moak. 

Honorary pallbearers were Joseph Vincent, Melvin Watson and Floyd Watson.

Marshall Funeral Homes of Bude, Natchez and Brookhaven were in charge of arrangements.
