LONA THOMAS

Funeral services for Lona Thomas, 77, of Bude were conducted on 
Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025 from Springhill Baptist Church, with Rev. Mike 
Carraway and Rev. Tyson Windom officiating.
Born in Franklin County on Oct. 28, 1947, she was the daughter of Mr. 
Curtis Thomas and Mrs. Maggie Lee Cannon Thomas. She was a lifelong 
Educator and School Administrator, where she served the students of 
Franklin County for 38 years. She attended the University of Southern 
Mississippi, where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees.
She was a lifelong member of Springhill Baptist Church in the Knoxville 
community. She loved to travel and was Co-Owner of "The Pottery Place" 
in the Monroe community.
She died on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025 at Southwest Regional Medical Center 
in McComb.
She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Kathryn and Dr. 
Bill Larkin and Sarah and Bob Benoit; and a host of nieces, nephews, 
family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Maggie Thomas; her 
brother, James "Jim" Thomas; and her nephew, Shelley Brown, Jr.
Pallbearers were Dan McKinney, Roscoe Thomas, Thomas Larkin, Kail 
Jordon, James Hollis Smith and Devery Brown. Honorary pallbearers were 
Clint Gouch, Colby Welch, Joseph Brocoto, Jim Smith, Vance Windom, Tyson 
Windom, Cole Thomas and Art Thomas.
Memorials can be made in Lona's name to Springhill Baptist Church 
Cemetery Fund at 430 Freewoods Rd. SW, Roxie, MS 39661.

JUDY HUFF
Nov. 11, 1932-Jan. 26, 2025
Funeral services for Judy Huff, 92, of Eddiceton wee conducted on 
Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025 from the Chapel of Franklin Funeral Home, with 
Rev. Carl Mason officiating.
Born in Eddiceton on Nov. 11, 1932, she was the daughter of Mr. Julius 
Edward Nettles and Mrs. Gladys Cotten Nettles.
After graduating from Meadville High School, she married Samuel Earl 
Huff, and they were happily married for 47 years until his death in 
1997.
She enjoyed the holidays with her family, especially Thanksgiving when 
she hosted the event. She loved her children, grandchildren and 
great-grandchildren and looked forward to updates on what they were 
doing or planing. She was a Homemaker who dedicated her life to her 
family.
She spent many years in the Florida cities of Tampa and Lake City while 
raising her family but she longed to retire in her childhood home of 
Eddiceton, which she did in 1992 with her husband.
She died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025 at her home in Eddiceton.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Randy Knight; 
her son and daughter-in-law, Donna and Mickey Finn; her brother and 
sister-in-law, Bruce and Charlotte Nettles; her daughter-in-law, Andrea 
Huff Rush; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Gladys Nettles; her 
husband, Samuel Earl Huff; her son, Samuel Walter Huff; her sister, 
JoAnn Rayborn; and her brothers, Blake Nettles, Raymond Nettles and 
Ronald Ed Nettles.
Pallbearers were her grandsons, Dwayne Dozier, Randy Dozier, Chris 
Dozier, Jason Huff and Harry Huff; and her great-grandson, Jacob Huff.
