Schools to remain closed on Wednesday

Shortly before 12 noon on Tuesday, Superintendent of Education Chris Kent announced that schools will remain closed on Wednesday as winter weather continues to move through the area.

Snow fell throughout the area Tuesday as schools were closed, and that was expected to harden and cause icy road conditions on Wednesday. The main concern is transporting students and staff to and from school, with safety being of the utmost concern.

A decision on whether or not to close schools on Thursday is expected to be made early on Wednesday.
