NOTICE OF SEALED BIDS:
Franklin County Board of Supervisors will be taking sealed bids on a new 
backhoe. Sealed bids MUST be received on, or before, Monday, November 
18th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Franklin County Chancery Clerk's 
office at 36 Main Street, Meadville, MS. Sealed bids MUST have your 
name or company name & bid for District #3 Backhoe written or typed on 
the OUTSIDE of envelope. On the INSIDE on the sealed envelope please 
list name, phone number and amount of bid along with the details. The 
Board will open bids at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 18th, 2024, and 
will accept the lowest and best bid on the backhoe. The Board has the

FRANKLIN COUNTY NEW BACKHOE LOADER SPECIFICATIONS: 
BASIC SPECIFICATIONS: Backhoe shall have a minimum digging depth of 14' 
with standard stick and 17' 7" with extendible stick. Engine net peak 
power @ 1800 rpm shall be at least 102 HP. 
ENGINE: Engine must comply with U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final / EU Stage IV off 
road emission requirements. Engine shall have a DPF regen system that 
does not require operator interaction or force the machine to be parked 
for regen. This system operates in the background during normal machine 
operation. 
POWERTRAIN/TRANSMISSION: Transmission shall be made, serviced and 
supported by the machine manufacturer. Unit shall have a high gear 
speed of no less than 22 mph. Unit shall have 4 forward gears, at least 
2 reverse gears, and a fully synchronized Power-Shuttle transmission 
coupled with electro-hydraulically shifted forward and reverse shuttle 
clutches.
STEERING: Machine shall have hydrostatic steering. 
BRAKES: Brakes shall be inboard oil-immersed, hydraulically actuated, 
multiple discs on final drive. Parking brake shall be spring applied 
hydraulically released, engaging automatically upon machine shutdown.
WHEELS/TIRES: Machine shall have standard 4WD. 
OPERATORS STATION: Machine shall be Cab & Air. 
BACKHOE: Extendible stick shall be available. . 
LOADER: Minimum 1.25 CYD Multi-Purpose bucket (4 in 1). 
WORK TOOL OPTIONS: Machine shall have a hydraulic thumb. 
ADDITIONAL FEATURES: Must have a Certified Dealer Training Instructor 
for training. Shall have a dealer service facility within 50 miles of 
County Barn.
