DELTA ELIZABETH COMEAUX-ACHORD

A private Celebration of Life for Delta Elizabeth Comeaux-Achord will be

conducted at a later date.

She was a force to be reckoned, as she loved hard and lived life to the

fullest. She adored her husband of 32 years and they never spent a night

apart. She was "Mama Beth" to Jimmy's daughters, Tutt, Tammy, Stacy, Kim

and Laura.

If you were lucky enough to be her friend, you knew her sharp wit and

generous heart. She loved all animals, especially her cats and horses.

She enjoyed bass fishing with Jimmy and would tease him because she

could out-fish him from the back of the boat. She enjoyed trying new

restaurants and spending time with friends and family.

Beth and Jimmy were previous residents of Walker, La., and have lived in

Franklin County for more than 10 years. She enjoyed being a part of the

Franklin County community and was an active member of the Franklin

County Water Association.

She died on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024.

She is survived by her best friend and husband, Jimmy Achord; her

daughter, Deb Prockner; Jimmy's daughters, Tutt, Tammy, Kim and Laura;

and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Shawn Church; her mother,

Lucille "Fritz" Harwell; her father, James "Dunc" Comeaux; her uncle,

William Knox, Jr.; her grandparents, William C. Knox, Sr.,and Selma

"Bessie" Knox; and Jimmy's daughter, Stacy Achord Blanchard.

RONALD TURNER HAVARD, SR.

May 2, 1942-Aug. 15, 2024

Funeral services for Ronald Turner Havard, Sr., 82, of Brookhaven, were

conducted on Monday, Aug. 19, 2024 from Friendship Baptist Church.

Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Born in Mobile, Ala., on May 2, 1942 to Woodrow Wilson Havard and Ruth

Turner Havard, he graduated from Crosby High School. He worked for the

Illinois Central Railroad/Canadian National for 31 years. He was a

Brakeman for eight years and an Engineer for 23 years. He retired from

the Railroad in August 2004.

In 2009, he and his wife, Delores, purchased Brookhaven Skating Rink

from his father-in-law, Dewayne Nettles, and operated it until 2017.

He surrendered his life to Jesus Christ on Aug. 13, 1986. He was a

member of Friendship Baptist Church for 16 years, where he taught an

Adult Sunday School Class and helped his wife, Delores, with Children's

Church for eight years.

He died on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving

family.

He is survived by his love and wife of 43 years, Delores Nettles Havard;

six sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Gaynell Havard, Brett and Nena

Havard, David and Suann Poole, Alan and Melanie Poole, Ronald Turner and

Amanda Havard, Jr., and John Wayne Havard and his fiance, Jada; two

daughters and a son-in-law, Anna Dawson and Katy and Mike Cowart; a

sister, Connie Havard Nettles; 26 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren,

a special friend in Rikki Rutland and numerous family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, William

Nettles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Deaconess Hospice of

Brookhaven. The family is very thankful for the care they received from

them.

ROBERT DOUGLAS "DOUG" BERRYHILL III

March 14, 1975-Aug. 15, 2024

A Celebration of Life service for Robert Douglas "Doug" Berryhill III,

49, was conducted on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024 from Brookhaven Funeral Home,

with Elder Shane Arnold and Elder Luke Addison officiating.

Interment followed at Mt. Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in

Smithdale.

Born on March 14, 1975 to Robert Douglas "Bobby" Berryhill, Jr., and

Robin Theresa Berryhill, he was a Log Truck Driver and drove for Triple

P Trucking.

He enjoyed the simple things of life --- spending time with his family

and friends. He was always the one with something to say and was the

life of the party wherever he was. He loved riding his motorcycle with

his brothers and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed taking

kids hunting and then telling the stories afterward. Many youth hunters

took their first deer while on a hunt with Doug.

He died on Aug. 15, 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Trena; his parents; a brother and

sister-in-law, Allen and Tanya Berryhill; his sister, Heather Thompson;

two nieces and a nephew, Katelyn Berryhill, Memorie Smith and Ellis

Thompson; his stepchildren and their respective spouses, Sabrina and

Andrew Norris, Trace Wallace, Destiny "Big Head" and Jesse Haas and

Kacey Alfred; six step-grandchildren along with numerous aunts, uncles,

cousins, other extended family and friends and three special hunting

buddies in Precious, Princess and Tripod.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Douglas Berryhill,

Bonnie Coward Berryhill and Joddie Scroggs.

RUSSELL WILBERT GILL

Dec. 31, 1941-July 11, 2024

A service to celebrate the life of Russell Wilbert Gill, 82, was

conducted at First Baptist Avondale, where he dedicated so much of his

time and love.

Born on Dec. 31, 1941 in Franklin County to Claude Felix Gill and Naida

Westbrook Gill, he grew up embodying the values of faith, family and

community. Throughout his life, he exemplified the love of Christ,

serving his community as a Deacon at First Baptist Avondale for more

than 50 years.

He was also a Chemical Supervisor and worked for many companies over the

years, mentoring those around him. He was an avid gardner, sharing the

harvests with neighbors and friends. His steadfast faith and dedication

to his family and community was an inspiration to all who knew him.

His life was a testament to his faith in Jesus, his love for his family

and his dedication to his community. He will be remembered for his kind

heart, his humble and generous spirit and his commitment to living a

life of service.

He was a loving husband, loving grandfather and loving

great-grandfather.

He died on Thursday, July 11, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jo Ann Porter Gill, who was his

lifelong partner and best friend; his loving children and their

respective spouses, Teresa and Jeff Wreyford and Deborah Bill; his

sibling and their respective spouses, Naida Jo Moulder, Relda Freeman,

Claudette and Jimmy Holden and Nancy and John Calcote.

He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and their respective

spouses, Jennifer and Troy Delvalle, Janie Gill, Christopher Gill,

Elizabeth Woodham, Chelse and Mitchell Burt, Bethany Scott, Kiersten

Scott, Blake Wreyford, Stewart and Nikki Wreyford and Katie and Collyn

Brenner. He also delighted in his 19 great-grandchildren, whose laughter

and love brought him immense joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Rusty Gill; his

brother, Benton Gill; his sister-in-law, Allie Louise Gill; and his

brother-in-law, Don Moulder.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the

church in Russell's memory, continuing his legacy of faith and love.
