ARDEAN SHAW

June 22, 1938-Nov. 19, 2023

Funeral services for Ardean Shaw, 85, of Smithdale, will be at 10 a.m.

from St. Alphonsus Church with Father Suresh officiating. Visitation

will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, Dec. 9.

Following the funeral service, interment will take place at Mt. Olive

Missionary Baptist Church in Kirby.

Born on June 22, 1938 in Bude to Willie Shaw and Jessie Curtis, he was a

Veteran of the United States Air Force and served as a Postmaster until

his retirement. He was affectionately known as "Dean."

He died on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023.

He is survived by two daughters, Teresa R. Shaw-Brewer and Stephanie N.

Shaw-Hines; a granddaughter, Milana A. Traverso; and a host of nieces,

nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lottie; and four

brothers, Willie Shaw, Thelma Shaw, Edward Shaw and Douglas Shwa.

WAYNE HESTER

Aug. 1, 1942-Nov. 28, 2023

Funeral services for Wayne Hester, 81, of Roxie, were conducted on

Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023 from Hamburg Baptist Church with Rev. Leslie

Wooton officiating.

Interment followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hamburg.

Born on Aug. 1, 1942 in Hattiesburg to Noel Hester and Louise Lindley

Hester, he enjoyed anything outdoors, especially hunting at Lucky Hollow

Hunting Club. He always looked forward to any family gathering where he

could spend time laughing, fellowshipping and reminiscing with loved

ones.

He served his country and was retired from the Mississippi National

Guard.

He died on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023 at his residence.

He is survived by his daughters and their respective spouses, Tammy

Fairburn of Monticello, Vicki and Rusty King of Roxie and Katie Hester

of Natchez; his son and his spouse, Eddie and Kristi Hester of

Meadville; his sister, Carolyn Cole of Hamburg; eight grandchildren and

eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Louise Hester.

Pallbearers were Marty Dunn, Brody Cole, Darren Webb, Brent Cole, Dan

McKinney and Hunter Ezell.
