WILL L. WOODS

Oct. 8, 1955-Nov. 19, 2023

Funeral services for Will L. Woods, 68, of Bude, were conducted on

Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023 from St. Paul Baptist Church.

Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Will, who was affectionately known as "Bill," was born on Oct. 8, 1955

in Quentin to M.L. Woods, Jr., and Mary Davis. He was a Sunday School

Teacher, Deacon, Personal Caregiver, Handyman and, for years, worked as

an Orderly at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

He was well known in the community and loved by many.

He died on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Woods; his brother, Roosevelt; his

niece, Carolyn Hayes; his sisters, Heather Jacobs and Marsha Webb; and a

host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Lillie V. and

Gloria; a brother, Jimmy Winston; and extended family members David and

Mary Lou Webb of The Franklin Advocate and their dog, Webster.

VIOLET REBECCA PARTRIDGE

Nov. 22, 2023

Funeral services for Violet Rebecca Partridge, 85, of Seymour, Tenn.,

were conducted on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023 in the East Chapel of Atchley

Funeral Home in Sevierville, Tenn., with Brother Marvin Howard

officiating.

Interment followed at Beech Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

A member of Beech Springs Baptist Church, she enjoyed spending time

crafting and sewing.

She died on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tim Partidge and

Bryan and Kim Partridge; her daughter, Deanna Partridge; her

grandchildren and their respective spouses, Nikkie Partridge and Tiffany

Partridge and Shane Muse; her great-grandchildren, Landon Gibson and

Addison Muse; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Partridge; and her

mother, Diddle.

LORRAINE BASS STEELE

April 18, 1935-Nov. 20, 2023

Funeral services for Lorraine Bass Steele, 88, of Smithdale, were

conducted on Friday, Nov. 24, 2023 from Middleton Creek Primitive

Baptist Church, with Elder Tom Griffin and Brother Marvin Howard

officiating.

Interment followed at the church cemetery.

Born on April 18, 1935 to the late Hilton Bass and Myrtis Laird Bass,

she was a member of Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She was a

faithful, devoted and loving wife and mother who enjoyed reading,

gardening her flowers and sewing almost all of her wardrobe.

She died on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023 at Aston Court in McComb.

She is survived by her children and their respective spouses, Dennis and

Stephanie Steele of Sumrall, David and Dianne Steele of Smtihdale and

Wanda and Daniel Hart of Summit; her grandchildren and their respective

spouses, Anthony and Carman Steele, Lori and Scott McMullen, Valerie

Freeman and Michael and Kristin Hart; her great-grandchildren and their

respective spouses, Ally and Jacob Jordan, Kenadi Conerly, Carson

McMullen, Sera Freeman, Carleigh McMullen, Paisley Freeman, Andrew Hart

and Savage Broussard; her brother, Aubrey Bass; her sister, Joyce

Johnston; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Clem Steele; her

grandchildren, Nathan Steele and Monica and Nicole Hart; and her

great-grandchildren, Ava and Claire Steele.

Pallbearers were Joseph Cothern, Michael Hart, Raymond Smith, Anthony

Steele, David Steele and Preston Walters.

The family would like to give special thanks to Aston Court and

Compassus Hospice for the care of their loved one.
