MBI investigating death of woman accused in shooting of her husband

A Southwest Mississippi woman, who was arrested on Sunday, April 30 and accused of killing her husband in neighboring Jefferson County earlier the same day, was recently found dead inside her jail cell in Claiborne County.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has taken the lead in looking into the incident where 41-year-old Sarah Peshoff was believed to have killed herself.
She was being held without bond in the facility in Claiborne County. Her body was reportedly found by jail authorities shortly after 9 p.m., on Wednesday, May 10.
She was arrested in connection with the death of 43-year-old Leroy Peshoff Jr., whose body was found by a family member inside his home on Grainger Road, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
The location of the alleged shooting was just north of Franklin County’s Oldenburg community between McNair and Hamberlain roads a short distance from the Franklin-Jefferson counties line.

Funeral services for Leroy Peshoff Jr., who was a native of Louisiana, were held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 8 at Elmo Baptist Church in Jefferson County, and interment followed in the church cemetery.
Franklin Funeral Home of Meadville was in charge of the arrangements for Leroy Peshoff Jr.
At press time, no arrangements had been announced for Sarah Peshoff.
