Funeral services for Gregory Rudolph Barksdale, 71, of Smithdale, were held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 12, 2023, at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home in McComb with Dr. David Millican officiating.

Interment was in Mount Gilead Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Smithdale.

Visitation was held from 9 a.m., until the time of service on Friday, May 12 at the funeral home.

A member of the Mississippi National Guard and a retired IT tech, Mr. Barksdale was born to Calvin R. And Ruby Watts Barksdale on Dec. 13, 1951, and passed away at his residence while surrounded by his loving family members on Sunday, May 7, 2023.

He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his in-laws, Jimmy and Irene Kyzar.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Pamela Kyzar Barksdale; his four sons, Donnie Barksdale (April), Chris Kyzar (Angel), Vinnie Barksdale and Dorian Davis; his daughter, Christina Byrd (Greg); his sister, Janice Duck (Nolan); his 12 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
