Arthur Lamar Whittington, 82, of Smithdale, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. 

He was born to Adam and Nancy Virginia Whittington on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 1940, in Franklin County’s McCall Creek community.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children; Timothy Daniel Whittington and Rebecca Ann Whittington; and his siblings.

Survivors include his son, John Whittington of Smithdale; his granddaughter, Kera Whittington; and his extended family and friends.

Private funeral arrangements will take place at a later date.
