NORABETH HALFORD

A memorial service for Norabeth Halford, 82, will be conducted at a

later date.

She was born and raised four mile outside of Meadville on Hominy Ridge

and was the daughter of Lela Smith and L.W. "Pete" Halford.

A 1960 graduate of Meadville High School, she attended Copiah-Lincoln

Community College and graduated form the University of Southern

Mississippi with a degree in Special Education. She taught Special

Education in Franklin County for one year before moving to Biloxi, where

she continued to teach for 30 years.

After retiring from teaching, she continued working with stints at

Beauvoir Antebellum Home and Museum, a Catholic school and as a school

bus monitor with special needs students.

She was devoted to her family and had a lifelong love of animals. She

rescued and adopted too many dogs and cats to count.

She died at her home in Ocean Springs.

She is survived by her sisters, Elsie Merle Quinn and Erma Lou Luckett;

her sister-in-law, Sarah Pearl Halford; six nieces, a nephew and her

great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Wayne Halford;and her

brothers-in-law, William "Bill" Quinn and Thomas "Tom" Luckett.

PAMELA SMITH EMFINGER

Sept. 19, 1947-March 16, 2024

Funeral services for Pamela Smith Emfinger, 76, of Meadville, were

conducted on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from Sarepta Baptist Church in

Meadville, with Rev. Steve Sasser officiating.

Interment followed at Sarepta Baptist Church Cemetery in Meadville.

Born in Coles, Miss., to Vernon H. Smith and Mildred Good Smith, she

enjoyed working Word Search puzzles, reading and spending time with her

family. She loved her dogs, who were her special companions and trusted

pets. She spent many hours working and caring for her flower beds.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She died on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at her residence.

She is survived by her husband, Malcolm Emfinger of Meadville; her sons

and daughters-in-law, Jeffery and Stacy Emfinger, Simon and Kery

Emfinger and Luke and Evelyn Emfinger; her brothers and sisters-in-law,

Danny V. and Faye Smith, Gregory and Rita Smith, Reggie and Tottie Smith

and David H. and Sheri Smith; her sister and brother-in-law, Anya Gail

Smith and Carl Conger; her grandchildren and their respective spouses,

Logan and Abbey Emfinger, Carmeron Emfinger, Addy Emfinger and Kynlee

Emfinger; and her great-granddaughter, Ellie Emfinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Mildred Smith.

Pallbearers were Marshall Bankston, Logan Emfinger, Cameron Emfinger,

Mark Reid, Adam Smith and Cory Smith. Honorary pallbearer was the late

Lynn Wactor.
